| Physical and Chemical Properties | Chemical properties White to light gray or beige porous powder. The drying quality is light, the apparent relative density is 0.15~0.45, and it can temporarily float in water. The relative density is 1.9~2.35. The size is about 25 μcm. It has strong water absorption (it can absorb 1.5~4.0 times the weight). Insoluble in water, acids (except hydrofluoric acid) and dilute alkali, soluble in strong alkali. SILICONE DIOXIDE - Production method
natural powder is obtained by grading and screening diatom remains after air drying (<800 ℃). It is gray to beige.
Calcinable powder is formed by air drying, sieving, calcining at high temperature (815~982 ℃), and then grading. It is pink to off-white.
The molten calcined powder (white) is dried in air and screened, and then melted and calcined (800~1200 ℃) in the presence of flux (soda ash or other alkali salts) and then graded.
The acidic powder is formed by drying one of the above three powders after pickling and water leaching.
